Bob,

Getting old sucks! I've always been fat but healthy and always had BP of 
120/80. 2 years ago my gall bladder went bad, and apparently my pain 
tolerance is too high because by the time I went to the hospital, the gall 
stones had also blocked my pancreas and given me pancreatitus. That made me 
diabetic because apparently it takes your pancreas years to heal if ever. As 
a result of the operation I also got some infection and was stuck in the 
hospital for 4 weeks. Somehow that also messed up my blood pressure because 
they kept pumping IV's into me. I take 2 pills a day for that and all is 
well. I once again stay at my pretty constant 120/80. I didn't have a 
prescription in my life till I was 48 and now I have like 5 lol. I can't 
complain though as I've never had any ill effects from any of it.

Hi Staf, I am happy to hear you are back home and recovering.  Were there
any warning signs pervious to the attack?

I went to a cardiologist 2 weeks ago.  My blood pressure was something like
160 over 80.  I scoffed that is was elevated by being nervous coming to the
doctor.  He said to keep a chart for a week.  I did so, and have been
averaging 140-155, while the bottom number has been staying under 80.  So I
guess I do have it and am scared as I never wanted to have to take BP meds.
Anyone else have issues with BP?  Lifestyle change can be a scary thing.
