Hi Bob

I would put in a shout for Deep Purple who continue to produce quality.  Like UH the line up is not classic but 60% of the line up most would identify as the classic line up (Mark II) isn't bad.  Gillan's voice isn't what it was bit he has adapted what and how he sings suitably.  

For both these bands from the same era to still be producing quality music as they are (and better than most newer bands) is remarkable.

I fear the egg-timer is running low on how long they can both go on for but I cannot wait till October when I am lucky enough to be seeing both in London and hope it's not the last time for either.

Funnily enough I bumped into UH at Heathrow 3 years ago - they were off to Scandinavia for a Festival and I was off to Vancouver for work.  Lovely chat with them all and we were getting on like a house on fire until Mick saw my phone case - as a big Tottenham fan he was less than impressed by my Arsenal case!  As he departed the lounge he gave me a loud volley of light-hearted abuse (which I duly reciprocated) with a big grin on his face - to the bemusement of the other occupants of the lounge whose oasis of calm had been rudely interrupted.... 😊.

Every morning I take my HeepHound to an off leash dog park to run. Yesterday I ran into a guy and we start talking music.  He said before the pandemic he saw Judas Priest live. And he said you never believe who was playing with them.  I think I floored him when I quickly blurted   "Uriah Heep".  I filled him in on all the updates and he agreed Bernie is not Byron but like JP sometimes you have to work with who you have. We both agreed Halford is much better than Ripper.  But in the case of UH you can't bring David back.  

Living the dream is no Demons and wizards but show me one 70s band still going that put out new music recently that compares to Heeps output? (Ie: Living the Dream, Outsider)
