Now that Knut mentions it, there are some really strong metal songs on Equator. I still rate it as one of 1986 top releases. My point below is that it was not of the caliber of 70's Heep recordings. 

That said I love the 3 Lawton era almost as much as the earlier ones. Yes Byron was the classic Heep vocalist but Lawton was great and I believe took Heep into another era and it's sad that it ended after just three albums. 

Getting back to high and mighty midnight is the greatest keep song we never hear about yet it always gives me goosebumps every time I play it.
