Black Star Riders. They have 2 excellent CD's. Their sound is very much like 
Thin Lizzy which makes sense because guitarist Scott Gorham was involved in 
the songwriting for both.  They performed as Thin Lizzy for a few years 
until they decided to put out new material. At that point they changed the 
name.

There is a band I was curious about. Black Sea Riders?  They are what Thin 
Lizzy evolved into. There you have a case of the band changing name after 
personnel changes
Funny you mention Kansas I saw them live last year they still have quite a 
few original members
