 Don,
It is always important to remember WHEN it was said. 1979, if I am not mistaken? Of course, by then Byron still hoped to get a proper solo carreer and still thought it was a good decision to LEAVE Heep - I am sure he was fired only techically and the choice to leave was entirely his. That is why he also declined Box's offfer in 1981. But the problem was that the big music wirld wasn't really interested in any other kind of Byron than the one of Uriah Heep. And that killed him in the end, I believe.
