[Heeplist] 2]: Heeplist] (no subject)

Just have done as you recommended, Pete. To my ears, his voice is a) too much American to be a real Heep voice b) has some harsh overtones c) lacks natural vibrato that Byron had. Plus, which is the most important, his is obviously a different kind of tenor than the one David was. His rather high F and A notes of the first octave are more suitable for some country ballad because of their harshness and nasal sound while Byron did it softly, using falsetto and not pushing too hard on his vocal chords. But then again, they are just different kind of tenors. Even Ken Hensley in his prime was more authentic with that one then Bernie has ever been.
Cheers. Igor

>Haven't had time lately to comment on most of the posts, but in Bernie's defence, I couldn't let this one go. Igor, take another listen to Bernie singing Rain. Try the one on Future Echoes for example, but any version he does is good. In fact there have been times I've had to check which album the version I was listening to was from as it could so easily have been David.
