Having Walsh left the band must give 'em a clue what to do... especially since they have no longer been doing anything of value since god knows when. 14 years, am I wrong? Sad but fair - they are already dead as a creative unit for many a year now. This change won't change a lot for the most of us. Kansas WAS a band... ages ago. And definitely not with Elefante... the last real progressive Kansas came out 1979 and afterwards there was only a flash of reminiscence in 2000. Sad, sad story... To me it is one of the major disappointments in life: I dreamt of seeing them live while they were still a real band with new, fresh material but they seem comfortable not leaving America at all. Even Mark Farner came here at last... :)
Cheers, Igor
P.S. Not being crazy about Box-Lanzon-Shaw UH I take my hat off just for the fact they are very unlike Kansas regarding creative process and touring schedule. True rock band must work like that, otherwise you are something else.
P.P.S. I have ALL of the original Kansas vinyls in my collection as well as some of the later non-classical albums. The most interesting and magical American band of the mid 70-s.

>As KANSAS continues on, the band wishes Steve only the best in his future
>endeavors, and thanks him for the 41 years.
>
>His voice had definitely fallen off over the decades, but when I saw them at
>their anniversary show here in Pittsburgh last year he sounded the best he
