I don't know if this was the right thread, but as we are all mentioning
great Seventies' live albums, here's my two cents... Led Zep, Hendrix,
Purple, our Heep, "Thin Lizzy", "Kiss", "Rush", and so many others had
great issues, for sure, and UFO's "Strangers in the Night" is worth its
weight in gold, platinum, and any other precious metal for Schenker's
11-minute-plus tour de force, "Rock Bottom". However, their first live
album was every bit as phenomenal, in my humble opinion (Lest one should
ever forget The Pie!) Mick Bolton, who turned out to be far more reclusive
than even Syd Barrett or Peter Green, actually stings his six strings with
just as much prowess as his Teutonic replacement! The
seven-to-eight-minute joining of the "Prince Kajuku" saga, Bo Diddley's
"Who Do YOU Love?", Mick's very own tour de force majeure, "Boogie (for
George)" clocking in also beyond 11-minutes, as well as the party starter,
"C'mon, Everybody!" amidst a horde of throbbing, teenage, kamikaze Japanese
fans places this early live release as one of the decade's primal screamers
and best. Check this one out with a black light, and a good, cozy bottle
of Chateau Lafitte... erm, that reminds me of "Foghat"... lol
