Hi there Rick!!
Regarding #7... I'd love to bring you some records too!! But happened that when you wrote this message I was already in Russia riding on the Transib train... So it might be a little too late for purchasing albums... Now I'm in Irkutsk/ Siberia, tomorrow night I'll board the train to Beijing. Would you like something from there? Or from Xian, Chengdu, Lhasa, Guilin, Foshan... Just let me know and I'll bring it to you! BTW, where are you???

To all the others: after China and South Asia (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand) I'm going to California. If someone from the US needs something (not too big) from here please don't be shy!

Cheers!!

Claudia

Hi, All!

Most of the time, I read whatever YOU guys are going on about, and move
along. lol Sometimes, I consider them for awhile, especially if it is a
topic which moves me. Here are some of the things mentioned in recent
weeks:

1) Black Sabbath / 13: Tony & Geezer still riff like the masters they are;
Ozzy has seen better daze (sic) lol.
2) Deep Purple / Now What?! vs. Blackmore's Night / Dancer & the Moon:
There's really no comparison. Ritchie is still amazing in his own little
world, and Ian & co. were surprising with that Dixie Dreg-guy. lol
"Vincent Price" is cool, but better done by Alice Cooper.
3) Humble Pie / Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore (The Complete Recordings)
is utterly phenomenal! I just wished the setlist were more expansive. How
about a reformation with Clem & Peter on lead guitar, Jerry on drums, Mark
Farner on guitar/keyboards, and Glenn Hughes on bass and vocals? They
could call it "Humbler Pi". lol
4) Allan Lanier of BOC, a tragic loss, indeed. In my humble opinion, he is
what made BOC so special between the 5 guitars and keyboards and macabre
lyrics.
5) I thank YOU all for the recent uploads. Whether it was UH live in
Moscow or Tel Aviv this year, or yesteryear without Mick or with him in
1972 in Nuremberg. Indeed, all Heep is good Heep. I'll leave the counting
of drumbeats, etc. to the musicians among us.
6) Ken Hensley & Live Fire: I like most everything that Ken has done since
he got off smack circa 1998. I thought "Faster" was great, and they had a
singer that was a good cross between Bernie & David Byron. The new guy is
not bad, and certainly not as horrible as John Sloman, but one can hear his
accent come through at times. Still, a bass playing singer is cool. Now,
the live disc was truly exceptional! Ken and co.'s timing, meaning the
timing of the songs, is really Heepish of yore. So, I guess that I agree,
Mick and the boyz couldn't hurt to double check the feel of, at the least,
some of the older songs. Should Ken return to UH? I'm not certain. Could
he bring the bass player and guitarist with him, if Davey is not
permanent? That would certainly beef up the UH choir of days gone by.
7) Claudia is coming to China? I am near Hong Kong. If YOU are bringing
CDs to Igor, then surely YOU could sport some my way, por favor. lol
8) Carlos Santana re-dubbing solos from Woodstock, Mr. Todd Klun?! If YOU
double check your Songfacts (http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=8436),
he only did that on the Woodstock performance of the song, "Evil Ways",
which he had been saying for years was ruined by an out-of-tune guitar.
Believe me, he wouldn't dare touch "Soul Sacrifice" or any of the others
that got the band in that Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Shame a few years back.
After "Corazon", I avidly await the new reunion disc with Neal Schon and
Gregg Rolie, which should be a feast for sore ears in 2014.
9) What's this nonsense about UH never making the RnRHoS? Once "Kiss" get
in, believe me many of the rights will be wronged, lol, I mean many of
the..., well, YOU know what I mean, because Gene $immon$ promised me
personally that he believes many of the bands that once supported the
masked ones deserve a spot. So, here's to an amazing new Heep release in
2014 that I predict will outsell the current "Motorhead" release 2-to-1,
and chart higher; and, that is saying something, because Lemmy and his
bastards just scored their highest charting disc ever Stateside. I love
YOU, all! Keep on Rockin'!

P.S.- to one of the Daves, the one who has been out of work for more than
three years: China is always looking for new foreign teachers to teach
English here. If YOU have a degree in any field, and YOU are a native
speaker, then give it a shot!
