[Heeplist] Illusion

Scott,
the end of Illusion is actually a separate song called "Masquerade". It was a single B-Side, but I don't remeber which was the A-Side.
As for the guitar solo, I'm quite sure this is not Mick playing, but Ken playing the slide guitar. A typical Ken melody-solo slide.

Cheers
Rich

Somewhat late reply on this but...
I personally love the song Illusion and believe it is the most developed and
complete piece on Innocent Victim.  Complex and filled with emotion.  The
guitar solo is one of my favorites of Mick's as he doesn't overpower the
song and slowly moves through it.  The harmonies throughout are spot on and
the end is great where they pick up pace add the vocal harmonies over the
acoustic guitars and then fade out like a radio edit.

Have repeatedly come to the end and hit the Back button to start again!

One of my all time favorites from the Lawton era.

Everyone knows my feelings  "All Heep is Good Heep"!!!!

As for Illusion, one of my favorite off of Innocent Victim.  Haunting
keyboards, powerful vocal by John, great psychodelic sound effects. This is
what one expected Heep to evolve into and sound like, following Magicians'
Birthday

During the Lawton era, Heep got away from the hammond sound, but I think Ken
really displayed his talent with some very progressive keyboard work and
songwriting.
