Bob,

I was on the 4th row in Orlando and I barely heard "terrifying brutal sound." I think the further one gets away from the stage one will hear the mix more clearly. It was nice to see everyone again. I'm sorry I didn't get to talk with you or Merrick very long.

Take care....

Hi Brenda, I was there too and I was on the meet and greet line as well. We were right up at the top of the line. Sorry I didn't get to meet you or make your acquaintance in person. There was seven of us that are on this Mailing that were at the Tampa & Orlando shows. At Tampa, I sat up in the balcony and the first several songs until they got to gypsy, the vocals were a little bit on the muffled side. However, in Orlando, I was in the second row right near the stage, and I was able to hear Bernie's vocals on every song quite clearly. In my opinion Adams keyboards were complementary to the music, but they really shown through on Gypsy, July morning, Rainbow Demon, and Sweet Lorraine. At your Orlando show I noticed Adam was a little more prominent dueling with Mick (instead of being the second guitar like on the album).
What can I say about Nick? I have never seen him have a bad show. I noticed every time I see Dave play live He's become quite the performer moving around a lot and I like when he has those blue lights on the bass. Russell put forth a stellar effort on the drums and these two shows he seemed better than ever.

They played three songs from the new album of course we knew they would do save me tonight and I believe they performed that better than the actual record cut. Hurricane is a rocker and the band displayed a lot of energy playing it. I don't remember though hearing the background vocal phrase "terrifying boom sound " like you do on record. Lastly, they also did Hail the sunrise. It was a good performance of the song, would've preferred some other songs, Ike Golden Light, One Nation, Freedom to be Free or You'll Never Be Alone. To me those songs I just mentioned are the outstanding tracks on CNC and display more progressive side. However, I think because of playing with Saxon, they went for the hard rock type songs.

Speaking of Saxon, they seem like a very hard-working dedicated band, but I didn't stay for either show. I only listened to a few songs and not having been a fan of them or that type of music, I was in town for Heep!

On the way to the Tampa I was driving up interstate 75 and I passed a big reddish RV pulling a black trailer. I got all excited and I thought it was the heep entourage. I honked and waved. I also paced my self beside the vehicle Hoping they look out the window and see me. I later found out from Russell that that was the Saxon bus.

Besides seeing my favorite band of all time, you live two nights in a row I want to give a shout out to some folk here from the list that I haven't seen in a while Ron Mann, Mac, Lannis, Eddie Halliburton and Merrick (the Madman). I also met up with Bob M and his wife. We shared a few meals together as well as carpooled from the hotel to the Orlando show. Many of you on the list know Bob as having a similar email address to mine. I am Uriahheep he is Uriaheep (with 1 H). I know over the years that has confused people. I will say this and really nice guy. we 1st met at a heep show in New York about 13 years ago.

I apologize for the abbreviated review as many of you know in the past I wrote War& Peace sized novels to document every detail and conversation lol.

If anyone has any questions about any of the songs or Setlist, which by the way was the same both nights, feel free to ask.

We went to celebrate Uriah Heep’s 54-year career and to hear the soundtrack of our growing up years or wonder years. We missed Uriah Heep’s 50^th anniversary celebration (as most of us did), but the 54^th anniversary tour was very special. The Tampa concert (2^nd night of the U.S. tour) was headlined by Saxon and Uriah Heep was the opener. The Orlando concert (3rd night of the U.S. tour) was headlined by Uriah Heep and Saxon was the opening act. Heep rocked the house at both venues playing many of the older classic tunes such as “Rainbow Demon”, “Gypsy”, “July Morning”, “Stealin” , “Free and Easy”, among many others. The old tunes still reign supreme and we enjoyed the music as much as the first time we heard the songs played so many years ago…We were able to hear for the first time live performances of the songs “Save Me Tonight”, “Hurricane”, “Hail the Sunrise”, from their latest album “Chaos and Colour” . The songs are all fantastic and Uriah Heep have entered a new era (their next 50 years) with an incredibly fresh sound. Mick and the boys are at the top of their game! Just a few additional things to note about the Tampa and Orlando concerts. Not sure who was responsible (the bands or the venue), but at the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa venue, we were issued meet and greet badges just for being at the right place at the right time. We were in dis-belief how one minute we were trying to locate the events center in the casino and the next minute we were having our photos taken with both Uriah Heep and Saxon. There are no words to describe this unexpected good fortune! Thank you Uriah Heep and Saxon for taking time out of your busy schedules to accommodate your fans. Many thanks to the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa for letting us know about the “meet and greet” which we would have missed otherwise. One last thing to note, we somehow missed knowing about Saxon all of these years. After hearing 2 nights of their music, we declare ourselves fans! Albums have been ordered. Please go see Uriah Heep and Saxon on the current U.S. tour, you will not be disappointed!
