Anyhow, I totally agree with Dave/Eddie, Davey's bass really stands out on these songs. On the Freedom song is solos quite frequently in that song. I absolutely adore, hurricane, golden light and silver light and the two best songs are the freedom song and I'll never be alone. I also like hurricane and hail the sun rise. And there is age of changes that one I am crazy about the keyboard intro and the guitar & keyboard solos. So far I only noticed two heap choir songs that's age of changes and closer to dreams.

>> Anyway, upon first listen I was anything but blown away. I thought most songs sounded drab, dull and quite uninspired. I will admit I was having a bad day.
>> This is Heep, so I figured I would heed Bob W's advice and give it about 99 more spins before I draw any final conclusions.
>> Upon second and third listen, more of the colour is starting to show in these songs. The arrangements make sense, the lyrics are far less superficial than I initially thought and there might actually be something to this one. This album appears to be a grower for me.
>> I must say, this is the first record where I feel Davey Rimmer is really coming into his own as a Heep bassist. His bass lines are more driving, more prominent and I love the solo he's given in the penultimate track.
>> But can we please take a moment to express our appreciation for Mr Lanzon? He is the man of the hour on this record, playing some of his finest, most inspired, most dirty, most Heepy Hammond licks and riffs. His soloing on C&C is something else. He really raised the bar on his own playing. I sincerely hope he brings out a third solo album soon, cos he's probably my most played artist on Spotify.
>> All in all, the lads didn't have me at first listen. But I'm glad that Mick & Phil allow so much room for input from Davey and especially Russel, who's written some neo-classic Heep tracks. I look forward to the next live gig. And to album #26 ;-)
