[Heeplist] (no subject)

The Kansas album is good but not near as great as the one they released a
couple of years ago. Kansas fans are much like Heep fans in that anything
that doesn't feature Kerry Livgren's songs or Steve Walsh's vocals is not
Kansas to them.

The Blue Oyster Cult CD is incredible. Definitely the best thing they've
produced since the 80's. Buck Dharma just tears it up on guitar. It's been
20 years since the last CD so I guess they had a while to work on material
:)

I would agree the last few recordings did not live up to Sea of Light but
that was now 25 years ago and they hit perfection on that like Demons &
Wizards album, 48 years ago. At this point after hearing the last few cds I
have come to accept, that is all they have left, yet still enjoyable. And
still better output then any 70s band still recording. I would like to
reference new Kansas and Blue Oyster Cult releases this year. Both very
good yet I read a review on the new Kansas from a die hard fan who said it's
not Kansas.

Many on the list here and elsewhere think Living the Dream isn't Heep. Well
Iam here to say it does say Uriah Heep on the spine and I am thankful for
new recordings yet will acknowledge they do not approach the standard of SOL
or DW.
Ed I hope you are right and they have 1 last great one to gift us with. Ken
is gone, Lee and Trevor, Gary, David and John Wetton.

How much longer do we have ourselves? I certainly am not what I was in 1995
or 1972.

Today I heard an old classic from the 70's by Don McLean

'Cause the players tried to take the field
The marching band refused to yield
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?
We started singin'
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
