Just listened to Heep's first album. This album has special meaning to me. In 1970, I was stationed at Fort Bragg as a 2nd Lieutenant. Sometimes on the weekends we would return to my home town of Hamlet, NC. On one of these occasions, my next door neighbor brought over this strange looking album by a group called Uriah Heep. We listened to it over and over. I was so impressed that I could hear and understand all the words on the album.

So I have been a Heep fan now for 50 years. My son will be 50 on June 30. A lot going on 50 years ago.

I have now seen Heep 56 times. I have all 25 studio lps along the top wall of my mancave.

The last song on the album Wake Up (Set Your Sights) could be an anthem for today's times.

Oh God stop this killing said a young man before he died.

Wake up set your sights
For never shall we fail
Stand up for your rights
And Justice will prevail

Lannis
