I might get trashed for this, but SO WHAT!I went to see Steve Priest's Sweet on Friday night here in Vegas, and they were great.I've been a fan for decades, and this US version of the band rocks hard. Although their catalogue could be written off as bubblegum and trite, live, this version of the band is as good as any hard rock band out there playing today. In the last couple of years, they've replaced their lead guitar and singer and the results are awesome. Closer to Fireball era Deep Purple and some Heep, their new guitarist Mitch Perry has a resume that can match any LA session vet. He transforms early 70's Sweet hits into really had rocking songs, especially Love is Like Oxygen. Steve Priest on bass is a treasure and founding member.Some California dates coming up in November.
