Hi Ed,

I turned the volume up , yes, it's louder. Lol.!  , I'm thinking more at
the initial recording of the instruments. The guitar riffs and bass , some
organ could  stand more to the forefront of the songs also the sharpened
etched sound you're talking about is  probably what I'm getting at.
Just has a different sound quality than newer recordings  . The sound is
more brighter, not so subdued.
