[Heeplist] West Coast tour

We saw Heep on Friday at the Canyon in Agoura, Ca. (thank you Greg and Sherri). It was the 13th……Magician’s Birthday……and they delivered big time. We were right up front and had Bernie and Mick playing and singing within an arms reach of me and Helen. I’d have to say that the biggest surprise on their setlist was Shadows Of Grief. To have them play 3 songs from LAY was a real treat. The place was packed, with people standing in the back about 5 deep. It was good to see such a great turnout, considering back in 2002 we tried to help Bob Carruthers book Heep at the Canyon. Helen and I got negative reaction from the owner then, he said that Heep would not be able to fill the place and he said IF he did book them, it would have to be in the middle of the week because he felt they wouldn’t draw enough interest to fill the place on the weekend. The positive from that experience is that Bob Carruthers came up with the Classic Rock Festival in Trenton, N.J. and we had our Heepvention there and had Heep show up for the HV !!!  Anyway the strange thing about Heep being there on Friday, is that they ended up playing at two of the owner’s venues, the Rose in Pasadena and at the Canyon. I guess Heep proved him wrong !!!!!!!!!
We traveled over 350 miles to see the show and every mile was worth it !!   So I hope everyone, that are waiting to see them, prepare yourself for the excitement and POWER of the HEEP !
