Hi Lannis,

Thanks

>> On Feb. 12, Bobbie and I drove 532 miles to the Reunion Resort in Orlando. This is a huge complex, with 3 golf courses, the Jack Nicholas, the Tom Watson, and the Arnold Palmer. Russell and Scampi are big golfers. Interstate 4 was a bitch. On Feb. 13, we did some shopping, ate at a Cracker Barrel, and went to the obligatory flea market. While at a Walmart, a guy noticed my Heep shirt and cap, and started talking to us. His name is Francis Kenny and he is from St. John Island, Newfoundland. He wanted to go to the Heep concert, but he was with 7 other guys. He told us about St. John and that he would give us a tour when we come up. On Feb. 14, Bobbie and I arrived at Disney Springs a little before 12.We went into the House of Blues gift shop to look at some t-shirts. I told the clerk that I had been to 43 Heep concerts. She said she was going with her mom to the concert. Soon after, Ed arrived. We went to the D-Luxe Burger for lunch. We all had burgers. Burger King needs to rename their whopper, because these D-Luxe burgers were huge. Can’t believe we ate the whole thing. Afterwards, being well satiated, we went back to the House of Blues site. After a while Bob and Norma arrived from Jacksonville. It is amazing that after you meet Heepsters and hang out a while, it is like you have known them for years. While people watching, we spot a guy with a Classic Rock Cruise t-shirt. His name is Greg Perry from Columbia, SC. He had been on 3 cruises already and going on number 4 the next day. He said each band plays 3 times. There are 3 stages, with simultaneous concerts starting early in the morning and maybe going as late as 2am. He said if you really want to see it all, you need to have someone bring you pizza. We got a text from Merrick saying they would arrive at about 4. Later we got a text that they were eating at the House of Blues Restaurant. While looking for them, the clerk from the House of Blues gift shop came up to me and gave me 2 upgrade passes for the upper level. She said she was impressed with our earlier conversation and wanted to do this for us. All I could say was thank you so much. We did get to hang with Merrick and Cathy before the concert. We also talked to the German sisters, Claudia and Andrea. They are only going to 12 shows on the NA tour. 15 German shows were just announced for Oct. and Nov. I bet they will attend all of those. Once it was time to go into the venue, the guys had to form a line on the right and the girls a line on the left to be patted down. I even had to take my Heep cap off. Once inside, Bobbie and I were escorted to our seats on the left side of the stage on the upper level. After a while, the hostess said we needed to move over because she had seated us in the wrong location. Shortly a young couple arrived with 2 kids about 8 years old. We were thinking to ourselves, that this was no place for 2 young kids .During the concert, however, the little girl standing next to me was singing all the words to the songs. Their parents said that they listen to Heep music every night. I think these parents deserve a special Heep award. The concert was typically Heep awesome. We could not see Russell pounding the drums from where we were sitting, but could hear and feel them. We had great views of the other four. Bernie was great as usual hitting those high notes. Davey was moving all around the stage, owning it. Phil was killing the keys. Mick was being Mick. The setlist was Gypsy, Look at Yourself, Shadows of Grief, Stealin, The Law, Sunrise, Magician’s Birthday, The Wizard, One Minute, Between Two Worlds, July Morning, Lady In Black, and encore Easy Livin. The concert was 95 minutes. To me Gypsy is the perfect opening number, a crowd pleaser to start things off. Mick had several awesome extended solos, July Morning and others. Bernie was really chatting up the crowd. On Magician’s Birthday, he asked if anyone was having a Birthday. Sure enough there was one guy toward the back, so the song was performed in his honor. Bernie mentioned that this was their first time at a House of Blues. He did mention the new album coming out in September. All in all, it was the great concert we always get from Uriah Heep.
