[Heeplist] FW: Keith Emerson

 The stories I have read state that his hands were developing arthritis and he could not play like he used too.. I am a drummer and know what that is like.

but to take his life after contributing so much. he could have lived knowing that he accomplished great things and glowed in that light.. or teach you even deaf how to make music. it would  shure be better than what's out there now.

     with his electronics background and midi experience he could have influenced even the deaf to feel the undertones. to make and even record those tones....

my thoughts, any way.......

Of course I am saddened and shocked by the death of Keith Emerson.  I don't
like how the headlines just say "Keith Emerson Dead at 71".  Truth is "Keith
Emerson Commits Suicide".  I was never a huge fan of ELP, but I can
appreciate their contribution to Progressive Music.  I still think however,
the bigger question for me, is why do people this late in life, commit
suicide?  I have a tough time talking about the music right now.  I want to
know more about what lead to this.  Why was he at such a point of despair?
Someone who has accomplished so much in his life.  Was it sudden?  Were
there signs of this earlier? Could this tragedy have been avoided?

Sad. ELP are one of my fave bands. I went to the High Voltage festival in
2010 for the sole purpose of seeing them. Heep were just a bonus.
