A very good album, a nice album for Jimmy Bain to go out with, another lost at to young an age. DaveS

Stan,

I don't remember seeing it, but I'll have to check that out.

My early contender for album of the year was just released on Friday. It's
Heavy Crown by Last In Line. This is Dio's original band from his first 2
CD's after leaving Sabbath (Viv Campbell, Jimmy Bain and Vinny Appice)
fronted by Andrew Freeman. This is some incredible music on par with those 2
DIO CD's without the 1 or 2 absolute all-time classic tracks those 2 had,
but what CD does anymore? Vivian Campbell hasn't let it rip like this on
guitar in decades.

Campbell seems somewhat cursed though. He's been fighting cancer for several
years, and it goes into remission then seems to keep coming back. Last In
Line was set to play on the Def Leppard cruise a couple of weeks ago, but
bassist Bain was found dead on the ship a few hours before they were
supposed to play - he thought he was fighting pneumonia but his autopsy
reportedly showed he had advanced lung cancer. The same night on the cruise
Joe Elliott lost his voice and Leppard played with Freeman fronting for a
lot of the songs along with Campbell, Phil Collen and others from the
various bands on the cruise contributing lead vocals.

There is some Heep content (SHC), only in that some of the styles on this CD
sound influenced by Heep, especially a track called Five Knuckle Shuffle". A
lot of similarity to early Rainbow (as in Rainbow
Rising!!) and Deep Purple. Under the Neon, released in 2015, is their second
studio album, the first being "The Stranger Within" in 2011.
Before that, considered a Deep Purple and Rainbow tribute band.
I've only heard the first 6 songs so far (some twice!), but I know I'll be
listening to this one many times. Doogie White is tremendous on the vocals!
Great musicianship throughout, I can't recommend this one enough. Truly
think if you are on this list and you purchase this, you will be very
pleased.

There are some great, and accurate reviews on line, I've only seen positive
reviews, no filler, etc. digital download on Amazon for $9.49.
