What message do you think Heep was trying to make with The Law?
No one has really talked about the message of the song and whether or not
they identify with what they were conveying lyrically.
I think the song's lyrics are thought provoking. I have to find the CD case
to re-read the lyrics in total but want to ask members of the list what they
think of the message behind the song.
It's in the set list for a reason and so it clearly was a message they
wanted to convey in their live set.

Interested in points of view.

I listen to the Law again after I wrote the other email , the song is really
growing on me. The song is the third track but is the one where we get the
first taste of Davie's killer baseline. Mick's guitar work is stunning and
at the end of the song Phil just goes wild on the keyboards. As for drums I
wonder if they had to replace the skins? Russell is relentless. The only
negative that I hear about the song is the chant about the law, but the Heep
choir is outstanding and I really like that last part of the song where they
really slow it down and then come roaring back. I admit I was not a big fan
of the song initially but it sure has grown on me.
I hope nobody else is making the same mistake of letting the lyrics skewer
the rest of the outstanding parts of the song!! I saw the light!
