[Heeplist] Phil, Invest in the Hammond!

Hi Scott,

I totally understand where your coming from on the B3 organ sound with the
rotary speaker effect.

But, this is the same reason my vintage 73 rhodes piano is in storage.
Their heavy,  back breaking , impractical to move around. With today's
technologies you can get pretty close sound to emulate vintage keyboards
but, your right you still can't beat the original sounds.
I mentioned in earlier posts about Heep and also other bands that are
recording music in studios, always stick to the real deal. At least for
recording
. I wish Phil would use aucoustic pianos in recording and like you said the
real deal Hammonds. I know that the piano on one minute is digital. It
makes a huge difference, like you said, the " richness of the sound"

He did use it on their acoustically driven recording, which was nice to
hear.
Unfortunately, I don't think the B3 or any organ sound is the money maker
instrument of  today's sound .
 So, this is why I'm glad to hear micks guitar up in the mix and lots of it
on Outsider.
