 Hello Mac,
Those words of yours are golden, I can sign under that statement, especially nowadays when most of the 70-s heroes choose to be "solo" artists... because while they are the winners in a commercial sense, we are definitely the losers in terms of creativity and innovations - we get mostly half-decent product, even bearing in mind how old are they.
