This is my first time posting, and I am glad I stumbled across this site.  I remember the first Heep 8 track tape I heard, back in 1973, I believe.  It was Sweet Freedom, and from the first few notes, I knew I had to hear more.  That summer, I picked up the previous albums, and copied them all to 8 track, that was the big thing back then, really high tech stuff.  In 1977, they came to my town, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and I remember that being a really loud concert, but very good.  After that, life happened, and here I am, nearly 40 years later.  The past few years, I have been picking up and downloading many You Tube Heep concerts and songs, and have been impressed how good they have sounded since Bernie Shaw began working with them.  After the Byron years, they were pretty much ignored by many, including myself, but my interest came alive again with the internet.

Two bands I want to see before they pass on, or I do, are Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep.  I passed on the Rock Legends cruise, but saw Heep was playing various cities this year, and originally I planned on seeing them in Las Vegas.  This did not pan out, so my plan B was to drive 500 miles to Milwaukee to see them, but I had to see what the weather and seating were like.  The Sunday before the concert, I checked both, and saw that the weather was going to be great, and Ticketmaster must have had quite a few seats they were holding opened up, and I got a great booth in row three, dead center.  My wife and i attended this concert, and she, who really did not know who they were, was really impressed, as was I.  I think the band now is better than they were all those years ago.  They were tight, Bernie's voice was 100%, and the combination of new and old songs was great. Although most in attendance were grey haired folks, I was surprised at the numbere of younger people who were rocking with the band.  One thing my wife pointed out was that these guys actually looked like they were having fun performing, which made for a better show, yet.  The concert lasted an hour and 40 minutes, including a 10 minute encore, almost unheard of in too many casino shows.

Even though they are off my bucket list, I will see where they are performing next year, and see them again.  I have been working on getting the manager of our city's new performance center to consider booking them, that would help with people in the midwest  as far as seeing them.  Otherwise, a drive or flight will be worth it.

Stan, sorry I missed you in Akron, I was there. I thought the band was fantastic - very energy, very spot on, and very professional. they could be easily playing to mass crowds with the level they play at. loved the set it, and the fact that they include half the new album. A cool little venue there, though it seemed a bit closed in [lack of exits]. I posted a few pics and a lengthier review at my Universal Wheels fb page. K

I agree for those of us fortunate to see a show. However there are still many on the last starving for Heep. Like Pacific Northwest or Florida

Not too much to say, they are always fantastic and once they start their tour, the set list doesn't very much, just sometimes they drop a song or two because of time restraints. I think everyone would agree, the excitement is still there, just re-hashing each show isn't done as much.
