Hello, everybody! I copy my message about Moscow Uriah Heep concert too. First, I must say , that it differed a lot from their shows I visited before. The band sounds quite different: there is no more beauty and mystery, just plain hard rock. And it’s easy to explain it: the guys promote their new album “Outsider”, play a lot of songs from it, and when they play something old, they make it suit the current music. I mean the same style of performing. Perhaps, they had to do that, but still… old songs have lost something important. But “Outsider” is all right! These songs were born to be performed alive (and loud), and I liked them in the concert more than in the record.
The concert was opened by a short energetic drum solo, then they played Speed Of Sound. I must notice, that the hall wasn’t full. There was no dancefloor, and there were quite a number of vacant seats. So, after the first piece Berney invited people to come nearer and even stand just before the stage! I hadn’t lost my chance and at once I found myself near the stage, somewhere between the first and the second rows of fans, because I’m very slim (and, luckily, tall enough). And I was standing just right in front of Mick Box! I wasn’t too surprised, because last time I was among the girls invited ON the stage to take part in the song Free and Easy (unforgettable!). So, I could see, that all of them looked very well and played with smiles on their faces. And the drummer nearly jumped out of his drum set! I like him very much, though maybe it was him, who killed the beauty of music and turned it into brutal rock’n’roll (imagine playing with double bass pedal! - I don't know the exact English word for it ). But rock’n’roll is a thing that nobody objects to! I even tell you, that rock’n’roll is the first thing we drink for when celebrating something with my friends.
What was the most memorable for me? I think it was the guitar solo in July Morning. Mick was making such sexy movements with his guitar, that I think all the girls were going crazy! And, as you remember, I was standing just right in front of him! Ah! I can’t help seeing it in my mind when I close my eyes!
And at last let me boast a little. Berney said, that there was no better place to play, than Moscow. Maybe he flattered us, but the atmosphere in the concert was really warm and friendly.
