I think you've hit on why I like the newer Helix better. I like the bluesier 
sound.

Well Dave,
... this only proves how much tastes do differ: I don't like Abandon too 
much but Bananas were the best that the early 2000-s had to offer for me 
anyway. Of all the bands, I mean. As for Helix... well, they were very 
interesting, at least in my eyes, poppy-heavy harmonies combined with tricky 
instrumentals, somewhat reminding me of The Sweet. Now it is a different 
story, although I like the album.
