[Heeplist] What's the best music for someone new to UH start with?

Christopher Aug chrisaug at icloud.com

I'd like your help!

I don't know much about the history of this band but it seems like there
have been many great eras. I am going to see them in March for the first
time and really don't know where to start. I did buy the 7-disc box-set so
I think I've got the early era(s) covered. I'd like to know what is the
band playing at their live shows now and which CD/DVD is the best place to
start to see what this band is doing now.

Thanks!

-Chris in CT

No sir, it is not like that: if you think someone's post is of no interest
to you just don't read it and don't go to the links. Others still might
enjoy (like Stan did, for instance) so don't spoil it for them, please.
However, the next time I will tell exactly what the link (or anything) is
dedicated to.
Cheers, Igor

"Some band other than Heep" might be way-way better (like in this case)
than certain Heep (Equator, Head First just to name a few) recordings.
Sometimes it is useful to widen your horizons, gentlemen. :)))))) But I do
not insist on that for the tastes they really do differ greatly. :)))))))))

I saw this band in Moscow in early 2000-s, they took part in a blues
festival together with Chris Farlowe, and I must say I was shocked how good
they were. By the way, they had an American singing bassist then, don't know
about now. I knew long before ?that Chris is still magic but they came as a
real surpprise. Worth seeing.
Cheers, Igor

In agreement. Heep is my favorite band, mas is not the only one. Nothing
wrong about sharing some other personal influences on the list. Maybe we can
widen our musical knowledge (if someone is not the all mighty knower).
After all, i see this mailing more than just a Heep worship, but an united
group by the same love for it.

 Elver,?
You summed it up better than ever, and I thank you for that. ?We love a lot
of different things, and it is mostly good music, so let us share it,
because the most valuable gift we have is the ability to communicate.
Cheers, Igor
