 Excuse me, gentlemen, but are the salaries that low in America? For instance, in Moscow an average will be around 30000 roubles (formerly 800 and something dollars, now more like 600 :() ; in provincial cities and towns it might be even lower but still people come to shows in more than modest numbers like 100-200 spectators.
