 If you ask my opinion, Dale, the lyrics sound a bit  straightforward and not enough aggressive for the Doors, more sober, although not entirely. Plus, with all respect to The Doors, The Guess Who are much more sophisticated musically, there's much more to play. :) Different chemistry, they seem to be quite ironic while The Doors were frighteningly serious at times.
