 Julio,
that is easy, boogie kind of bands like Ten Years After, Ted Nugent, Grand Funk, Foghat or Savoy Brown can (could) easily outplay themselves due to the groove they get live. Deep Purple could do that too, especially with Coverdale and Hughes. Of all the sophisticated rock groups that I am aware of, Kansas were also a perfect example of how good a live performance might be. If we  discuss Heep, only some songs played live were as good or even better than in studio, but that is a different story.
