He was capable yes, in the studio they did ok most of the time, but sometimes how they choose to sing was the problem, they do sound very good on the more recent live shows I've got. There are very few classic singers that can still sing so no surprise there, a lot of the guys that weren't thought of as being great singers sound far better than a lot of the guys that were well thought of back n their day. But again it's got a lot to do with personal taste. And who each of us consider as classic. Dave S.
