 Hello again, Tapio,
Only one of the gigs I attended was a festival one,l 1-hour and a bit long, the rest was regular 90-100 minutes sets, ending with Land Of Hope And Glory :))) But you might be right regarding the end of tour thing. Still, trust me, I am not making the stuff up, only report what I witnessed personally. And to be honest, I more than like what they are as a modern band and feel fooled to some extent when Bernie sings Lady In Black or July Morning because that always sounds coverish to me. Of course I understand many Heepsters feel the other way round (and they would've gladly got rid of the "nails" and "wheels" in favour of more Easy Livings:)) but I can't help feeling that everything must be original, genuine. The only singer apart from Byron or Hensley that sounds authentic to me even when singing Heep's classics is Mr.Lawton - but that is simply because almost all he touches with his voice turns to gold for me. And I miss Lee's beat quite a bit. I understand, it is a delicate subject to discuss, but I prefer being honest and critical than brown-nosing. This band is great overall but sometimes I feel there's something missing, and that something is freshness.
Cheers, Igor
