[Heeplist] Lee's new cd (it's lee so it's heep related)

I think for what this album is and what the band wanted to do that it is a
quality release and works great so if you listen to it for what it is it’s a
great release, even though it has its flaws, but that`s rock n roll.. DS

I agree Stan, and on Track 7 "As Time Goes By" at about 3:30 in on the song,
Lee does a lead duet with Berggren and the vocal interplay is impressive.
Also I hear a duet on the next track, Rock n Roll Gangsta, although Lee is
not as upfront in the vocal mix, you can hear him sharing the vocals. That
song I can see may cause some to not like the cd because it has some cliché
basic lyrics, but the music part is rock solid blues.

Frankly, I bought this with zero expectations, just to have because Lee was
on it and to show my support. I mean, don't we want to see former Heep
members succeed? Especially one who comes from the most classic line up of
Heep. So I bought it just to have it, then was surprised that I really like
it. It is solid blues rock, in the vein of Whitesnake, Foghat, Lynyrd
Skynyrd. The best analogy I can think of, it sounds like 1977 Heep with
Lawton and Lee Kerslake. While Berggen cannot be compared to John Lawton,
the sound is similar in vocals and drums to that era of Heep. However, it
is not Heep music. Rock solid blues, with a drumming that sounds very
familiar. I like the keyboards that are on the cd, it gives it a nice touch
and the background vocals, which are Lee.

Lee did write "Who Needs Me" for Heep and "No Bone Movies" for Ozzy as well
as heep saying he wrote "Come Back To Me" so that should be a clue as to his
style and I would say the BKB cd follows this style of the first 2 songs
mentioned.
