[Heeplist] Somebody doesn't like Lennon (nhc)

as a HUGE Beatle fan , some of these "assumptions" dont surprise me . Ever
since the Beatles came around there has always been some one writting the
tabloid stuff . Surely half was what was written was done to sell the
article . Was Lennon perfect ? no . Was he pure evil as this writer would
suggest? no. Most likely he was like the rest of us , stuck somewhere in
the middle trying to figure out life . Even in our advancing ages , we dont
know everything and still make mistakes. so lets break downthe story ..WHO
WROTE IT:was the author even alive when Lennon was ? WHY WRITE IT ? timing
of LIVE @BBC VOL 2?needed a paycheck ? He could have just as easily wrote
the ten best things , but conflict is what sells. So when I read articles
like these about any artist or group , I often "consider the source" . The
writer probably spent less than a day researching (surfin the net) and
writing this based on a headline the editor gave. maybe its a series of
articles "most unpleasant things about(fill in blank)" and John Lennons
name just came up this for this weeks edition.  with out proof , most of
what this guy wrote is guess work and opinion . Right now his job is to
sell magazines , but maybe he "wants to be a
paperback writer"

Maybe, maybe not. I am sure someone could make quite the "10 unpleasant
facts" list about me, you and just about everyone.

One reason why I like my idols to be idols, and why I would never watch
reality shows like Ozzy did. I want the myth, not the man :-)

McCartney was always my favorite all-around guy (song-writer, singer, etc)
in the Beatles, but I enjoyed Lennon's contributions as well.  This guy
makes him sound like a worthless scumbag:
