Hi Ed,

I am not 100% sure, to be honest - but I remember Mick stating when they were replacing Lee, that he wanted a drummer who was capable of doing lead vocals if needed (indicating, I suppose, that he wanted a drummer with good vocal skills).

You got me rethinking whether I actually ever heard / saw him sing, now :-D

D.

I have seen Heep several times with Russell in the band but I have never seen him sing. I may just missed it but I never saw him open his mouth.

He also plays a bass solo on July Morning and uses some of the same melodic fills as Trevor has added over the years, which I really liked.  And he contributes vocally, which is important. On a side-note, I did not hear / see Russel sing all night, and I am sure he used to do that before? Anyone have any clue?
