I don't remember Airey being that up front either, for me he's the highlight of the album, I've always liked his playing. As for it sounding like the last couple Heep album's, I don't hear that, but we all pick up different things that reminds us of other bands, I know I heard a couple things on the last couple Heep album's that made me think of Purple. like you I really like the last 2 Heep cds a lot more than this album.
